Iñaki vuelve de farra con los amigotes y se encuentra a su madre, Maritxu, despierta y guerrera, preparando las maletas para su inminente viaje a Sevilla. En ese momento suena el teléfono, la casa de Bego se ha inundado y no va a poder ir al viaje. Maritxu tendrá que quedarse en casa... o convencer a Iñaki para que vaya con ella. ¡A Iñaki! Un hombre que sólo ha salido de viaje a Rentería para echar gasolina barata.Y como a una matriarca vasca no se le puede decir que no, Iñaki cierra su pequeña taberna, da plantón a sus amigos para jugar al mus y se embarca en un autobús lleno de ancianos que cruzará toda España.

Encima, Sevilla es justo como la imaginaban. Hace un calor impresionante, la gente no respeta el espacio personal y es muy complicado entenderles cuando te dan indicaciones.

Todo se complicará cuando en un inocente juego de hotel, Maritxu tenga un accidente que la deja inconsciente y postrada en una cama.

A pesar de los buenos cuidados de Carmen, la Jefa de Enfermeras, y el equipo médico de la clínica, Iñaki no termina de fiarse de otra Sanidad que no sea la vasca.Pero no tendrá más remedio que quedarse allí abajo... y no volverse loco.
